Campus tours, planning sessions
• Kettering Admission Planning Session (KAPS) every Tuesday afternoon at 4 p.m. in the Boonshoft Center, 3737 Southern Blvd., next to Kettering Memorial Hospital.

Minority Nursing Scholarship
• We offer minority nursing scholarships. For information contact: Cookie (937) 208-5428

Respiratory Scholarship Program
• Amount: up to $10,000 toward a respiratory degree.
• Eligibility: prefer a 3.0 GPA but not required; must be entering last year of formal schooling.

Student Nurse Externship Program
• Exposure to clinical environment and orientation to the RN role.

Student Nurse Sponsorship Program
• Participants are employed by MVH with part-time benefit eligibility, work and educational opportunities.

Nurse Internship Program
• General nursing orientation, classroom education and hands-on experience on selected patient-care units.

Volunteer Program
•Many schools now require students to complete public service work. Thirty-nine high schools in Montgomery County are part of the Volunteer program. Volunteers also come from medical academies such as Greentree Health Sciences Academy, Isus Health Academy and Patterson Co-op Nursing Program.
• The Volunteer Program also works with The Board of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities (MRDD) to place their clients in a hospital setting in order to help them develop skill sets, raise esteem and build community awareness.
• Age 14 and up.
• Scholarships may be awarded to any student who has completed 100 hours of volunteer service by senior year.

Scholarships
• The UVMC Foundation and the UVMC Auxiliary offer scholarships annually to individuals aspiring to a health-care career.

• Scholarship applications are available in February, and scholarships are awarded in late spring, early summer.
